Come Ride with Us!

Start time 1:00 p.m.

This Extreme Trail event is hosted by Alaska State Quarter Horse Association. It is an event with many obstacles designed to not only push you and your horse out of your traditional comfort zone, but also test the teamwork of communication between the two of you. You will be required to navigate a course of up to 12 man-made obstacles in an arena as well as in an open field that will include obstacles similar to what you might encounter during a trail ride through natural trails.

You will have 2 opportunities to test your skills with a different variation or course of obstacles in each run. We will not publish the obstacles in advance. If you are curious as to the types of obstacles that you may encounter, you may certainly scan the internet for ideas from other Extreme Trail events across the nation.

Our judge, Linda Boggs, will judge your quality of your horsemanship and teamwork, manners and completion of the each obstacle. There will be 2 divisions - Novice and Advanced, with no cross entering allowed. You decide your level on the honor system.Any questions, call Carl Rehm at 242-0396.

This event is not a race. In the case of a tight competition though, speed may be a deciding factor providing that form/correctness is not sacrificed. There will be no dismounting and remounting or bareback riding in this competition.

Come ride with us at the Bluegrass Equestrian Center for this Extreme Trail event on Saturday, August 21. The first course will begin at 1:00pm alternating between novice riders and experienced riders (Novice Run #1, Experienced Run #1, Novice Run #2, Experienced Run #2.) Competitors must compete in both runs of their respective division to be eligible for prizes.

Arrive energized and ready to ride (eat lunch first!) We will provide water and a few snacks after the event begins.
